For your second question, fang is a pretty poor choice of weapon against low def targets. Whip is ~7.5% stronger on task than fang against mutated bloodvelds, which have 30 def level and 0 def bonus. Rapier is ~2.33% stronger on task than fang against black demons, which have 162 def level and 0 def bonuses..
